Do we really spend too much money on healthcare or do we not get proper value from what we spend? Evidence exists that the 18% of U.S. GDP devoted to healthcare falls short of the return other countries receive. Properly designed clinical workflow delivers better clinical outcomes – safer and higher quality care – by effectively leveraging HIT in ways that enhance clinical activities.
In this session, former HIMSS Chair Barry P. Chaiken, MD, MPH, FHIMSS discusses the how properly integrated clinical decision support systems and evidence-based clinical workflows can achieve acceptable value from our healthcare spending.
